        LifeSketch: A source for Michael Straunge marriage to Anne is found in his son Robert's biography as member of Parliament, which follows below. Source for Anne's last name Hungerford is Chapter 9 after this source: ---------------------------------r, 1117 - 1643; by David Rollison.on the dissolution of the Abbey, became the property of the Crown on the morning of 19 Dec 1539. About 8 years later, the Crown sold the Church, Steeple and surrounding houses of the late monastery to a local Knight, Sir Anthony Hungerford, and his kinsman by marriage, Robert Strange. Robert Strange was the last Bailif appointed by the Abbot of Cirencester, John Blake, before the dissolution. om the proceeds of the selling-off of the abbey estate, and from his profession as "clothman", Robert Strange raised 586 pd and in 1554 purchased the Manor of Somerford Keynes in Wiltshire from the Crown, with an estate that included 2 watermills on the Thames. Robert Strange served as Mayor of Bristol in 1474, 1482, and 1489 and died in 1491, who was the son of a Thomas Strange of Cirencester.irencester, had a commmon ancestor, who was an earier Bailiff of Cirencester, early in the Reign of Henry VI (1450-60), who was great, great grandfather of Robert.Challenge, c.1551 - 80 provides:9;s.
